55th class reunion September 25, 26, 27 Please put these dates on your calendar. Friday September 25, 2015 will be a gathering at the recreation center next to Grove City High School on Hoover Road for a "tail gate party" meet at 5:30 PM and the Grove City High School football game 7:30 PM. This event is free. Directions Saturday evening September 26 will be a gathering at the Elks Lodge 2140 Sonora Dr, Grove City, OH 43123. We are trying to locate several classmates. One of the many planning meetings was held on May 8, 2014 at Der Dutchman in Plain City Ohio. About twenty two stalwarts attended the hastily planned meeting. It has been decided that the boys are going to put together the 55th reunion. That ought to be a hoot! We are looking for ideas and hopefully we will get a survey out for all suggestions. Everyone is invited to the meetings and we encourage attendance. In addition to being helpful it is just plain fun to get together. Please email us with any change in address, phone number or email. Also let us know if anyone is ill or has passed away.
On September 29, 2012, we had our 70th birthday party to celebrate our entry into the eighth decade of our life. The party began on a high note since Ohio State won its football game. As you can see from the picture, we had a great turnout. We hope to have more parties between reunions. If you have any suggestions, please let us know. Marianne again provided us with magnetic ceramic mementos. We would like it if you would please provide us with your email address if it was not in the 50th reunion directory. You will save us postage if you let us know.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The potluck dinner took place Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at Battelle Darby Creek park Cedar Ridge Lodge West Jefferson, OH. The lodge and foliage was beautiful (see 65th birthday party link on the right of the page.) The food was good, the company better it was just a lot of fun. We'd love to hear from you, please send us a note or e-mail and let us know how you are doing. Especially if you have moved or now have a new phone number or email address. Click on the picture for a larger view September 29, 2011 The 2010 50th class reunion weekend has come and gone. Friday Night October 1, 2010, a hardy, healthy group assembled for a picnic at Jeanne and Dick Barbee's lovely home in Grove City. On Saturday October 2 the Berwick Party House hosted a gala banquet attended by 53 of our classmates plus spouses and friends. Our special guest was our teacher Jim Lester, who is an honorable member of the Class of 60. Coach Elmer Houdashelt was unable to attend. Numerous activities and presents added enjoyment to an evening that was in and of itself a most pleasurable time. Throughout the evening a wonderful meal was served by the Berwick followed up by a delightful cake provided by Joyce and Bill Benedum. On each table was a center piece also prepared by Joyce and Bill. Commemorative coasters were made by Marianne MacLeod Mowery. John and Patti Finley provided beautiful name tags with pictures and also provided musical remembrances of 1960's music in the form of CDs (2) for all attendees. A slide presentation remembering our departed classmates and honoring our teachers was shown. Dan Witteman and Larry Larrison emceed the night with a lively presentation. Ike Stage (Class of 62), Mayor Grove City, presented a moving compliment to our class for leadership to him when he was an underclassman as well as a proclamation declaring October 2, 2010 "Class of 1960 Day". Each classmate stood up and gave a synopsis of their life. In addition to the thanksgiving for long and happy lives, grandchildren and the extraordinary camaraderie of our class, numerous classmates shared their faith in God and the peace their faith has given them. On Sunday Morning, Brunch was held from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at the Golden Corral in Grove City. It seemed no one wanted to leave. All in all while the 50th reunion was a time for remembering, it in fact became a time to remember. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Our 45th reunion was held at Gala Events on South Broadway in Grove City on September 17 2005. |
