Joann E. Allwine age 81 of Grove City, Ohio has
joined our Heavenly Father December 7, 2023. She succumbed to
pneumonia at Mt. Carmel Grove City. She was born November 25, 1942,
in Grove City, Ohio to the late Alfred and Carrie (Krieger) Schoch.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She participated in
many organizations, such as TWIGS, Pilot Dogs, Civic Club, 4-H
Leader and Darby Valley Garden Club to name a few. She enjoyed
camping with her husband and belonged to the Cowboy Chapter Camping
Club and the Airstream Club in later years. Survivors include her
husband of 61 years Gary Allwine, daughter Lori Allwine Orta and son
Gregg Allwine, grandchildren Kyrsten (Sean) Robinette, Katelyn
Stenerson and Christopher Orta, great grandchildren Greyson Musick
and Luke Robinette, and her brother Allen Schoch. She also leaves
behind nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Joann was a prime
example of unwavering and unconditional love. Her love was so deep
it will be felt for a lifetime by all who had the pleasure of
knowing her. Her smile and presence lit up the room. She never met a
stranger, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand when she
could. Her legacy of creativity, recipes and sense of humor will
last generations. She was affectionately called “Nana”, by her
grandchildren and great grandchildren, who absolutely adored her.
She was famous for her delicious Texas sheet cake brownies and made
a mean eggy sandwich. Her bright spirit and energy were contagious.
Joann enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, telling
stories and cracking jokes. She took great pride in crafting and
sewing. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed
