Phyllis Loraine
Harman, age 79.5 died on February 10, 2021 at her home after
a brief illness complicated by diabetes. She was a retired
employee of Nationwide Insurance where she worked for 31+
years. She was a dedicated member of Iota Alpha chapter of
Phi Beta Psi Sorority for over 50 years. After Iota Alpha
closed, she finished as a member of Iota Xi. Phyllis worked
with this organization to raise money to fund cancer
research. She served as a National Officer and is a member
of the Rose Society. She was also a regular blood donor who
gave146 pints of blood to help others. But her most
important role was as "Mom" to Rick and Diane. She was
preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Alberta
"Presley" Cook, children Richard A. (Rick) (1978) and Diane
Lynn (1982), brother John W. Cook, Sr. and his wife Mona J.
She is survived by her sister Janet R. Strickler, niece
Michelle L. Strickler-Fisk, nephews, John W, Jr and Mindy
Cook, Jim L. and Lisa Cook, and many other nephews, nieces
and cousins along with many friends. Friends and family may
call at Schoedinger Funeral Home at 3920 Broadway, Grove
City, Ohio. Visitation will be on Thursday February 18 from
11 to 1 followed by a funeral ceremony and internment at
Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be
made to Phi Beta Psi Sorority to fund cancer research, 15981
